Percy is a charming old English teddy bear with a wonderfully happy expression – he never fails to make us smile when we look at him. He measures 12 inches in height and dates to the 1940s.
He is a five way jointed little bear and all of his joints move well. Percy has a light covering of golden mohair with no holes or damaged areas. He does have one very neatly stitched repair to his right wrist but this is hardly noticeable. He is in overall good strong condition. He has excellent eye sight as he has retained his original amber glass eyes.
Percy’s black shield shaped stitched nose, characteristic of a Chiltern bear, is original to him along with his mouth stitching. His paw pads have all been re-covered in gingham cotton fabric, his original felt paw pads remain underneath but we can not be sure if these are just the remains or more intact.
Little Percy is filled firmly with wood wool throughout and has a dented area to his tummy where his non working growler had been pressed so often.
Percy is an adorably charming old bear.
*The second photo of Percy gives him a orange glow but this is because it was an early sunrise when we took the photo. His true colour is shown in the first photo.*
