Valia a hand knitted teddy bear in pure North Ronaldsay wool (ooak)

Dressed in her winter woollies, Valia, is one of our very special North Ronaldsay teddy bears. They are made from the wool of the most endangered of our British Sheep. Hand knitted, of course, and using the natural colour of each fleece – white to dark grey and also browns and fawn. The fleece is excellent for hand spinning and has almost a double coat of softer under wool with coarse outer hairs which add more colour to the yarn.

Our North Ronaldsay teddy bears are made from a mix of fleece colours creating a warm grey shade with brown tones. The yarn is soft but has a slightly coarse hairy feel so not the best choice for babies and very young children. Our cosy little bear wears an outfit also made from North Ronaldsay wool, she has an embroidered wool nose and our famous hand made glass eyes.
