Over the last century wild tiger numbers have plummeted by over 95%. Poaching and habitat destruction are persistent threats, and as few as 3,200 tigers remain in the wild today. Sadly, there are more tigers in captivity than are left in the wild. They generally live and hunt alone. Their striped coat helps to camouflage them as they stalk and ambush their prey and each tiger has a unique set of stripes. Unlike many cats, tigers like water and they are excellent swimmers.
Our really friendly tiger is hand knitted in our rare breed Manx Loaghtan and Hebridean wool, giving him his lovely stripes. He has the most irresistible face with hand made glass eyes which just beg to be loved – he is seriously cute!!
Our tigers are very keen for you to know that they have glass eyes. Although very beautiful and hand made, these eyes can be dangerous for babies and small children. We are always happy to embroider the eyes for you so please remember to select this option when ordering.
