The lovely Hamilton is a very special bear being hand knitted from the wool of one of the most endangered of our British sheep. He is a gorgeous North Ronaldsay bear and, in keeping with the Scottish Islands, he is very proud to be wearing his traditional hand knitted Fair Isle jumper.
North Ronaldsay fleece has a variety of natural colours and is excellent for hand spinning having a double coat of softer under wool with coarser outer hairs which add more depth of colour to the yarn – creating a warm grey shade with brown tones for our lovely Hamilton. The yarn is soft but with a slightly coarse hairy feel.
North Ronaldsay teddy bears are lovely and soft but due to the slightly hairy nature of the wool they are not the best choice for babies and young children. Great if you need a bear for the man in your life!
Our bears are very keen for you to know that they have glass eyes. Although very beautiful and hand made, these eyes can be dangerous to babies and children. We are always happy to embroider the eyes for you so please remember to select this option when ordering.
