George A Gorgeous Old 1930/1940 Chiltern Hugmee Teddy Bear

George is a lovely old bear with a charming expression and he dates to between 1930/1940. He is a Chiltern Hugmee bear with a growler which suprisingly still works when you tilt him forward and back.

George has a good coverage of mohair with some wear in places, mainly to the back of his head, which simply adds to the charm of a bear of his age. He has a hole to one of his foot pads and a little thinning patch on one of his paws, he also needs a few stitches to the backs of his ears perhaps where a child has carried him along (a little like Wnnie The Pooh was dragged along by Christopher Robin!). George is in overall pretty good condition and is all original including his glass eyes and carefully stitched nose and mouth. He stands a wonderful 17.5 inches.
