Big Ted, Our Gorgeous 1940s Growling Teddy Bear has found the perfect spot for a picnic!

Big Ted, who adores the countryside and comes out with us whenever he gets the chance, has found the perfect spot for a picnic. He has brought along his favourite fruit cake and of course a jar of honey!

A Gorgeous Classic 1940s vintage teddy bear, measuring a wonderful 20 inches, Big Ted has the most adorable sounding growl when he is tilted back and forth and to still be working after so many years is quite surprising. He is a fabulous old bear with the classic look of a Chiltern (but we can’t be sure), dating to the 1940s and he is in wonderful condition.

Big Ted is a five way jointed bear and all of his joints move well – no signs of old bear rheumatics! He has a very good coverage all over of golden mohair with only very slight signs of thinning. He has rexine paw pads which are all a little worn, as to be expected with a bear of his age, but there are no holes and all paws are in strong condition.

He has perfect eye sight with his beautiful amber glass eyes and his nose and mouth stitching are all original too.

Big Ted is filled throughout with wood wool making him a lovely big bear to cuddle without being too squishy! He is the most wonderful old bear and we will be sad to see him go!
