Adorable Huxley A 1940s English Chiltern Teddy Bear

This is the adorable Huxley who is an English vintage teddy bear, made by Chiltern, and he dates to 1940. He measures 14 inches in height.
Huxley has wonderful soft, dark golden, mohair which is quite long with some slight overall thinning, which adds to his vintage charm, but has no holes. His original rexine paw pads show age related wear but are in good condition with no holes or repairs. Huxley is five way jointed but he does suffer from old bear rheumatics so these days his joints are a little stiff and no longer move very well – he doesn’t mind too much, since retiring, as he much prefers to snuggle up in an armchair than rush around in the way he used to!
Huxley has the most wonderful expression with amber and black glass eyes, black nose and mouth stitching and small ears. He is softly filled with kapok to his body and wood wool to his head. Huxley does have a non working squeaker in his tummy so he is also rather a quiet little bear these days.
The lovely Huxley is a wonderful example of a Chiltern vintage teddy bear in all original condition. He comes with his very cute dungaree trousers and top too!
