Winston is a lovely old bear who has an interest in nautical history. Unfortunately we could not find him a tall ship but he was quite happy to sit on one of the local fishing boats instead, dreaming of his sailing days as an adventurer.
Winston has a rather serious expression but also a very gentle look about him. He dates to the 1930s and stands an impressive 20 inches in height.
He is a four way jointed bear, all of his joints move well so no ill effects of all that salty air giving him old bear rheumatics! His eyes sight is perfect for looking down his telescope as he has retained his original glass eyes and his nose, mouth and claw stitching are all original too.
Winston has a fairly sparse coverage of cinnamon mohair, no holes or worn patches and he even has a working growler in his tummy! His paw pads have been re-covered, long ago, with wool felt and very neatly stitched too!
Filled throughout with woodwool, Winston is a firm bear with heaps of character.
He comes with his sailor top too.
