The Romney, formerly called the Romney Marsh sheep but generally referred to by locals as the Kent, is a breed of sheep originating in England.
They have adapted to survive on exposed and isolated salt marshes making them a good hardy breed!
Romney sheep produce a heavy fleece which can vary considerably from really quite coarse wool to wonderfully soft, it is also ideal for beginner hand spinners so we recommend trying this one (Jacob is great too!) The fleece is usually white in colour but some sheep can be brown, grey with silver tones or even black.
We absolutely love this wool and have the wonderful grey natural colour for our cute bears.
