Rare Breed Wool Selection Box

Once you have mastered the art of spinning wool with your drop spindle or maybe you are an accomplished hand spinner already, we are sure you will wish to try the many varied rare breed wool types, so, we have taken the work out for you with our selection box of washed, carded fleece all ready for you to spin.

Each selection box contains

40g each of Dorset Horn

This is one of Britain's oldest sheep and considered to be a rare breed. The fleece from these sheep is soft and strong making it ideal for hand spinning and hand dying should you wish to experiment with colour!!

40g Manx Loaghtan

A very old rare breed from the Isle Of Man, this fibre has always been popular with hand spinners and is great for introducing natural colour.

40g Masham

A long and lustrous fibre and very popular with hand spinners making a soft yarn in wonderful natural shades of grey.

40g Shetland

Traditionally used for fine shawls and Fair Isle knitwear, Scottish Shetland has to be one of the best British fibres. The wool is extremely soft.

40g Kent Romney

One of the finest and softest wool types, this fibre definitely deserves to be much more popuar - it is a fantastic alternative to Merino or Bluefaced Leicester.

40g Jacob

This is the classic hand spinner's fibre. British Jacob fleece is naturally multi-coloured. It is a particularly good choice for new spinners.
